LA-based producer Real Bad Man announces a new collaborative album with Michigan rapper Willie the Kid. Midnight will be released March 28th via the producer’s own Real Bad Man Records label, and includes guest appearances from UK rapper Sonnyjim, New York’s Lord Sko and frequent RBM collaborator Boldy James. Coinciding with the album’s announcement, Real Bad Man and Willie the Kid are sharing the album’s lead single “Maxwell’s Peacoat Collection.”
“We began the project like a digital sound board, focusing on wherever the production led,” Willie says of the process of making this album with Real Bad Man. “I think where Adam and I agreed upon is that the standout records were all themes for the night, late night drive, after-hours dinners, shopping, private rooftop hotel suites, it’s a thinking album, a cruising album preferably enjoyed at night…midnight”
Midnight marks the early stages of a prolific run of collaborations for Real Bad Man, building off of the momentum he sparked last month with his first full-length album with ZelooperZ, Dear Psilocybin. Working as a duo with the dynamic lyricism of Willie the Kid after the psychedelic sounds of Dear Psilocybin, Real Bad Man returns to the essential underground beatmaking that he first emerged onto the scene with through his On High Alert series. His crackling, lo-fi production pairs perfectly with Willie’s gritty delivery, laying a foundation for the longtime lyrical stylist who has worked alongside some of the genre’s modern heroes including Nas, Lil Wayne, The Alchemist, Roc Marciano, Curren$y and more.
Real Bad Man is the production moniker of visual artist and designer Adam Jay Weissman. A designer and visual artist first, he made his foray into music through his On High Alert series of imaginative, multi-generational compilations, which have featured the likes of Roc Marciano, ROME STREETZ, Pink Siifu, Maxo and more. In the years since, he’s partnered with some of hip-hop’s most talented and adventurous artists on full-length projects, refining and shaping the trajectory of some of rap’s most exciting independent artists, and expanding the scope of his sound even further through new and unexpected collaborations in 2025.
