Usher and Babyface Will Be Honored At The Apollo 2024 Spring Benefit.

Usher and Babyface are set to be honored by The Apollo Theater at its annual Spring Benefit on June 11 to commemorate its 90th anniversary.

The Spring Benefit, The Apollo’s signature fundraiser, is a spectacular celebration of the Theater’s rich legacy and its commitment to its future as a mission-led arts and cultural organization, a community anchor and an economic driver for Harlem and New York City.

“The Apollo has stood as an enduring beacon in Harlem, nurturing artists, fostering education, and sparking creativity across the world,” said the Apollo’s President & CEO Michelle Ebanks. “I’m thrilled to celebrate the ongoing legacy of our organization and our commitment to arts and education at the Spring Benefit. It will be an unforgettable evening of performances and a time to honor our cultural icons.”

The 90th anniversary Apollo Spring Benefit will honor Babyface, one of the most celebrated creative forces in music history, with the inaugural Legacy Award and inducted into The Apollo Walk of Fame.

I am humbled to receive the inaugural Legacy Award,” Babyface said in a statement. “For nearly a century, the theater has been a constant symbol of excellence in Black entertainment. So, for The Apollo to honor my legacy feels nothing short of amazing.”

Multi-platinum, global superstar USHER will be honored with the Icon Award and the evening tops off with special appearances by Big Daddy Kane and musical direction by Adam Blackstone and more to be announced.

“It’s an honor to be receiving this award from such an iconic and historic cultural institution in New York City — one that has hosted and paved the way for so many prominent people,” the “U Remind Me” singer expressed. “I’m humbled to be this year’s recipient and look forward to seeing everyone soon.”

Proceeds from the Spring Benefit support The Apollo’s important performing arts, education and community initiatives. The Apollo is a not-for-profit organization.
