Rapper DaBaby Pleads Guilty To Misedemeanor Battery.

Rapper DaBaby has pleaded guilty in his felony misdemeanor battery case involving a California homeowner. The rapper was accused of “sucker-punching” the homeowner when he tried to stop an unauthorized video shoot at his rental property.

The rapper didn’t attend the court hearing but accepted a no-jail plea deal through his lawyer, Blair Berk. Los Angeles County Judge Ray Jurado sentenced DaBaby to one year of probation and ordered him to pay $10,000 in restitution.

Deputy District Attorney Heather Brel said her office agreed to drop the more serious count of felony battery with serious bodily injury “due to problems of proof of proving serious bodily injury at trial.” She did not elaborate and declined to comment after the hearing. If he’d been convicted of the higher charge at trial, Kirk could have faced up to four years in prison.

The rapper, born Jonathan Kirk, must also “not possess, buy, or sell any deadly weapons, including firearms,” and stay at least 100 feet away from the victim, Gary Pagar. DaBaby originally claimed that Pagar spat in his face and made several racist comments towards him.
