Mac Miller’s ‘K.I.D.S.’ 15-Year Anniversary.
15 years ago today, Mac Miller dropped K.I.D.S., the mixtape that launched him into stardom.
At the age of 18, Mac Miller dropped a mixtape that would change his life. The project, a reference to the 1995 cult classic film “Kids,” pays homage to the urban teenage aesthetic in Pittsburgh. Now a staple of Mac’s discography, K.I.D.S. is home to his most streamed track of all time, “The Spins,” and other fan favorites like “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza” and “Nikes On My Feet.”
K.I.D.S. quickly gained international attention and established the young rapper as a significant voice in the hip-hop scene. Following its release, Mac set out on his first major tour, which sold out every venue.
