Liim – ‘R.I.P Peace’

Following a run of one-off singles earlier this year, Liim is officially entering a new chapter with the release of “R.I.P Peace”. Arriving alongside the single is a 900DKID-directed music video that pays homage to one of Liim’s inspirations in Blood Orange, “I’ve always been a big fan of Dev Hynes’ visual language. I feel like both of our sounds encapsulate a feeling of nostalgia & youthfulness,” says Liim. The music video depicts Liim walking – and dancing – us through an apartment tour with a cameo and additional vocals from Genesis Evans (Genny). The new single, “R.I.P Peace,” finds Liim rapping over Lite Feet production, a nod to Liim’s Harlem roots, along with the visual featuring quintessential landmarks from his neighborhood, from ZOOT tags to the 125th Street station, underscoring Liim’s knack for worldbuilding.

He is currently on tour supporting Freddie Gibbs and was recently added to the lineup for London’s All Points East festival, joining the stacked bill headlined by Tyler, The Creator.

Liim released his acclaimed debut album, Liim Lasalle Loves You, last September, which proved that he could put together a substantive body of work on his first swing following the success of early singles like “Pupils” (feat Opraah) and “Regista gyal” back in 2022.
