Today, Liim officially announces his sophomore album, A Sunflower Garden In Harlem Is Hard To Find, out August 28th via three times LOUDER. The album chronicles Liim’s journey from Harlem’s Grant Houses on 125th Street to the present, exploring near-death experiences, hard-earned life lessons, and the ongoing pursuit of self-discovery beyond the expectations placed on him growing up there.

 

 

To coincide with the announcement, the Harlem-raised artist is also sharing his new retro-styled single, “1980 (feat. AJRadico),” which captures Liim and AJRadico going back and forth with 16s like vintage Eric B. & Rakim. Inspired by Paid In Full and Juice, the track hints at Liim’s cinematic approach to his creative world-building that’s explored through his songwriting, production choices, and visuals. “Paid In Full & Juice are just two movies that are where I’m from. I grew up in almost every scene, and I think what those movies do for me is they spike memories.”

Following the previously released singles “R.I.P Peace” and “Is Loving Really Bad?,” the album’s announcement caps off a busy first half of 2026 for Liim, as he continued to tease songs from the album and secure acclaim in the process, namely for its lead single, “R.I.P Peace.”

A Sunflower Garden In Harlem Is Hard To Find’s announcement arrives ten months after his debut album Liim Lasalle Loves You, which proved that he could put together a substantive body of work on his first swing following the success of early singles like “Pupils” (feat Opraah) and “Regista gyal” back in 2022. With output like this, Liim has quickly become one of New York’s most promising young artists for his genre-blurring sound that weaves hip-hop, soul, and alternative textures into his earnest and wise-beyond-his-years songwriting.
