Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty is no longer in federal custody, according to his attorney.
Lontrell Williams, a/k/a Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to five years and three months in prison in a Miami federal court back in April 2022.
Williams pleaded guilty to firearms and drug charges as part of a deal that dropped three other charges, according to the Associated Press.
According to Williams’ attorney, Bradford Cohen, Williams was released from prison on Monday after a combination of time served and good behavior.
Cohen says he’s always happy to see his clients released from prison and Lontrell is looking forward to getting back to the studio and making music again.
They took to social media and posted the following:
pooh shiesty is ready….wait until you see hus comeback. He will be bigger than ever. I am always glad to see a client start the climb back up to elite status. Always kept it 💯
The government wanted 10…he got 3. I always think there is a plan for people and his story isnt over its just starting.
ABC24 Memphis reached out to Williams’s attorney for comment, who said the following:
“We’re very excited about his release, and he looks forward to getting back to the studio and making some hits.” Cohen went on to say that he expects the rapper’s return will make him an even bigger presence than he was three years ago.
