Victony and Fridayy Join Forces on “Glory II”
Rising Afropop sensation Victony collaborates with Fridayy for “Glory II,” a genre-blending track that fuses afrobeats, r&b and trap, showcasing Victony’s distinctive falsetto and deeply introspective lyricism. Fridayy complements the song with his soulful vocals and gospel-infused tone, adding a spiritual depth to the track that elevates its message of perseverance and personal triumph.
Coming off a triumphant U.S. tour, Fridayy continues to solidify his rising status, bringing pride to his Haitian American roots and adding a unique dynamic to the Haiti-Nigerian collaboration. Meanwhile, Victony is primed to release new music later this year.
Speaking on the new single, Victony shares – “Glory” is for everyone who’s watched me fight through it all. It’s dedicated to every fan who stood by me through the grind, the setbacks, and the victories. One year after Stubborn and an unforgettable run of touring across America, Europe, and Asia, this song is my moment to stand tall. Glory is about resilience, gratitude, and the strength I feel as I step into what’s next.
“Glory” arrived last month on the one-year anniversary of Victony’s acclaimed debut album, Stubborn, which dropped on June 21, 2024. The album marked a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution, featuring standout collaborations with the likes of Teezo Touchdown, Asake, Saint Jhn, Shallipoppi, and more. With Stubborn, Victony pushed sonic boundaries, crafting a bold and genre-defying project that celebrates the diversity and richness of African music on a global scale.
The project followed the massive success of his hit single “Soweto” featuring Don Toliver and Rema, which helped catapult Victony to international acclaim. Fans eagerly anticipated Stubborn, especially after the release of its breakout title track featuring Asake, which highlighted Victony’s resilience and lyrical depth.
Starting this month, Victony will support Davido for a run of six shows, including stops in Toronto, Quebec, Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia and Maryland. Tickets are available for purchase HERE and see full live dates below.
