Victoria Monét – SOS (Sex on Sight) ft. USHER

Three-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Victoria Monét and global entertainment icon USHER team up as R&B royalty to release their highly anticipated collaboration on new single “SOS (Sex On Sight)” out now via Lovett Music/RCA Records.

The Grammy winning pair finally connects following multiple public moments this year, from Victoria gifting USHER a congratulatory Super Bowl leather jacket at his Las Vegas Residency, to both leading NAACP Image Awards wins, to Victoria and Teyana Taylor’s viral performance paying homage to Beyonce and USHER’S iconic 2005 BET Awards “Bad Girl” performance during the USHER Lifetime Achievement Tribute at the 2024 BET Awards. The bonafide R&B single marks Monét’s first drop from her forthcoming JAGUAR II Deluxe since the release of her Grammy Award-winning album, JAGUAR II – which collected wins for ‘Best New Artist,’ ‘Best R&B Album’, and ‘Best Engineered Album at the 66th Grammy Awards.

“SOS” is another witty acronym from Victoria for “Sex On Sight” and was produced by Grammy-winning producer Camper (H.E.R, Coco Jones, Jay-Z, Doja Cat). It calls to Monét’s genius as a songwriter with her signature wordplay and double entendres. Continuing the classic sonic jungle of the JAGUAR era, “SOS” is driven by a signature bassline and soulful horn embellishments. USHER adds his touch with a sensual verse layered with silky vocals that intertwine perfectly with Monet’s. After calling on Usher to get on her type of timing, they finish the song with a flirtatious back and forth banter of, “Are you ready for it?” – Victoria’s sly and clever way of building anticipation for all that’s to come.

“SOS (Sex On Sight) is about desire. It’s about the urgency you feel when you need some love, physical touch and quality attention! Sometimes that desire can feel as urgent as being rescued from a natural disaster, or in this case rescued from your own sensual urges. Just like a storm, SOS summons and forewarns a lover of the rainfall that is to come and welcomes the beautiful relief from that desire. It feels romantic, playful, sultry and direct. Based in fantasy and the warmest tones of r&b. It feels timeless and we hope you enjoy the escape!” – Victoria Monét

2024 has been a year bounteous with accomplishments for Monét. She started the year with an impressive 7 Grammy Award Nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards – collecting wins across the categories of ‘Best New Artist,’ ‘Best R&B Album’, and ‘Best Engineered Album’, where she made history as the first Black woman ever to receive this award. She later released her Dave Meyers directed, Sean Bankhead choreographed music video for the Kaytranada-produced viral fan favorite, “Alright” – which received widespread praises from media and her entertainment peers.

In June, Monét made headlines with two standout performances plus award wins at the 2024 BET Awards for both Video Of The Year and BET Her. In addition to the “Bad Girl” USHER tribute with Teyana Taylor, she also delivered a jaw dropping mashup performance of her hit songs “On My Mama” and “Alright”. Monét also made her debut at a series of notable 2024 music festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Essence Fest, Outside Lands, Broccoli City Fest, and All Points East UK – where she can be seen performing to a 30,000+ crowd singing “On My Mama” word for word.

JAGUAR II represents a well-deserved chapter in Monet’s distinguished career, reaffirming her evolution from a sought-after songwriter to a prominent, groundbreaking artist, showcasing her transformation into a trendsetting star. This debut album from Monét emphasizes themes of multi-dimensionality and marks a defining moment in her career. Like its predecessor, Jaguar, the album is executive produced by Victoria Monét, Grammy-winning producer D’Mile (known for Silk Sonic and H.E.R.), and music executive and manager Rachelle Jean-Louis. JAGUAR II features standout tracks such as “Smoke” featuring Lucky Daye, “Party Girls” with Buju Banton, and “On My Mama.” The album’s highlight is a special appearance on “Hollywood” by Earth, Wind & Fire and Monét’s two-year-old daughter, Hazel Monét, the youngest Grammy nominee ever. With “SOS” as the new exciting continuation of Victoria Monét’s journey stepping into the spotlight, she is poised for this next Jaguar chapter.
