The Berklee College of Music commencement ceremony will feature plenty of star power this spring. Missy Elliott will be the first female hip-hop artist to ever receive an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music.
President Roger Brown will present honorary Doctor of Music degrees to Missy Elliot, Justin Timberlake and three-time Tony and Grammy Award-winner Alex Lacamoire. Berklee’s commencement takes place May 11 at Boston University’s Agganis Arena.
Past recipients of honorary doctorates include B.B. King, Smokey Robinson, Willie Nelson, Aretha Franklin, and Loretta Lynn. Source: CBS
