Chuck Strangers Announces New Album + New Single & Tour Dates.
Brooklyn rapper and producer Chuck Strangers returns to announce his forthcoming new album Glory of the King’s Hand, arriving on July 10th via Lex Records. The announcement is paired with a new single “Everyday,” the only self-produced track from Chuck’s new album featuring multifaceted newcomer and his favorite rapper currently, Obii Say, following the previously released album track “Torn In Two,” produced by The Alchemist. On “Everyday,” Chuck expresses gratitude for the hand that life’s dealt in balancing successes with daily and past tribulations as an illustration of his current head space.
Building on a decade in the game, Glory of the King’s Hand represents Chuck’s evolved sound and direction with an emphasis on intentional songcraft and composition. Having lived comfortably as a proficient beatmaker rhyming over his own lush beats in the past, Chuck moves into a refined approach to collaboration on the album, bringing together vocalists, producers, and musicians to curate a holistic vision for this new full-length. “I made choruses, there’s melodies, there’s instrumentation … I really tried to just make better songs that people might want to hear again — that are more than just a good verse,” he says, speaking on the process.
The collective project boasts some of Chuck’s most meticulous, yet pure and spacious music to date. On “Breaking Atoms,” the track builds on jazz-like improvisation from production trio Human Error Club while hypnotic Fender-Rhodes and headnod-inducing drums are the perfect complement for Chuck and woods’ visual verses and Zeroh’s psychedelic vocals. On “Torn In Two,” Chuck floats sharply over The Alchemist’s operatic loops, all the while reveling in the smokey delivery of tracks like “G Pack,” or “L2LL2C” and “Ski’d Up Reprise,” weaving familiar soulfulness and earnest introspection into each listen.
Chuck handpicked a collaborative roundtable of the current and underground rap scene’s most prolific producers to contribute to this album, including The Alchemist, Animoss, Theravada, Kenny Segal, Preservation, Child Actor, Morriarchi, Human Error Club, Cam Beats and more along with features from billy woods, Zeroh and Obii Say.
Chuck’s progression into the spotlight as a fully-fledged artist and producer has been a calculated and organic journey that began with 2018’s Consumers Park. Having taken lessons learned from his years at the center of the Pro Era braintrust and developing them into subsequent projects like his 2020 EP, Too Afraid To Dance, The Boys & Girls EP in 2023, and his most recent solo effort, A Forsaken Lover’s Plea in 2024, Chuck has shaped himself into a standalone voice in hip-hop and an architect behind the boards. He most recently contributed production across his collaborative Bad Tofu project and Boldy James’ Token of Appreciation last year. Glory of the King’s Hand punctuates the full breadth of his artistry as a rapper and executive producer, piecing together his magnum opus as a reflection of his long term vision behind the music’s creation.
Alongside the album announcement and new single, Chuck announces his headline US tour in support of the project kicking off this July including dates in Atlanta, Philly, New York City and more with support from AKAI SOLO, Theravada and Fly Anakin. Full dates below.
