Following last week’s announcement of his new album sankofa, out December 4th, redveil announces his 2026 North American tour run, the sankofa tour. Kicking off in February, the 27-date tour will feature support from rising artist Chenayder and will see redveil bring his new music to life across major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and Toronto. Known for his moving live performances, this upcoming tour marks his largest headline run to date.
Sankofa, marks the fourth full-length the PG County native has shared and his most open and vulnerable work to date, taking shape after years of shifting ideas before landing on a unifying mantra drawn from a Ghanaian proverb meaning “it is not taboo to go back for what you have forgotten.” The album consists of previously released singles “lone star” featuring Grammy-nominated vocalist Carolyn Malachi, “mini me,” and “brown sugar” featuring Smino.
Like his previous projects, sankofa is entirely self-produced, yet embraces a more collaborative spirit. After moving to California in 2023, redveil began recording in professional studios equipped with Rhodes pianos, synths, and session musicians. The result is a lush, dynamic sound led by redveil’s own direction, while bringing in live musicians to add new depth to his arrangements and make the most intricate music of his career. Tracks like “lone star” pulse with whirring synths and sharp drums, while “brown sugar” blends reggae, soul, R&B, and hip-hop. sankofa captures redveil’s continued evolution, showcasing his growth, restless experimentation, and willingness to learn in real time.
