Tupac Murder Trial – Day 8 (Live Updates)

Today is day eight of the trial of Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis, accused of orchestrating the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in 1996.

The trial is expected to continue at 1 p.m. on Wednesday after it was pushed back from a 9 a.m. start. It’s unclear who exactly will testify or what the order of witnesses will be.

On Tuesday, the trial continued with a witness who did not want to be in court, but he did reveal the words he said Tupac Shakur told him moments after he was shot in Las Vegas 30 years ago.

Malcolm Greenidge, also known as “E.D.I. Mean,” testified about his close relationship with Shakur and recalled the night of September 7, 1996, saying he was in a car behind Suge Knight and Tupac Shakur as they were headed to Club 662 during the drive-by shooting.

Greenidge said he was horrified, and when the BMW came to a stop in an intersection. He then recalled in court what came next when he went to check on Shakur.

Robert Ladd, a former Compton Police Department gang detective, insisted that the department’s dissolution was not due to police corruption. He claimed Davis was a high rank in the Southside Cripts and that if he was in the vehicle used in the drive-by shooting, he would be the shot caller.

Prosecutors also presented evidence about documents found in search warrants, including a “money due bill” for the Monte Carlo resort, but the date is not clear.
