Snoop Dogg surprised fans by transforming what was billed a short secret DJ set into the ‘craziest’ full-blown rap gig at Au Vodka’s HQ – featuring his biggest hits like Drop It Like It’s Hot.
‘DJ Snoopadelic’ appeared at the spirit giant’s office last night [Feb 23] to kick off his eagerly anticipated visit to Swansea, South Wales, in style.
The global superstar revealed he’d bought a minority stake in the city’s biggest football team Swansea City in July and now he’s arrived to party.
His surprise appearance at Swansea-based Au Vodka’s HQ was expected to be a 30-minute DJ set but he couldn’t help grabbing the mic to perform his own iconic tracks live.
Snoop treated adoring fans to 1999 hit The Next Episode and videos circulating online show him rapping rap classics Drop It Like It’s Hot and Beautiful.
The near-hour-long show started at 9pm but continued for almost 30 minutes longer than expected so he could run through his hit-packed back catalogue before London-based DJ AG took to the stage.
Co-owner Jackson Quinn said: “We’ve always said Au Vodka is the gold standard, and having a global icon like Snoop Dogg perform at our HQ in Swansea proves it.”
“It was amazing to see him in the flesh and what a show he put on for us. This is a massive moment for the city and a testament to how far this brand has come.”
“What started as a scheduled 30-minute DJ set turned into a legendary night that no one at Au Vodka HQ will ever forget.
“We were shocked when Snoop Dogg decided to scrap the script; instead of just DJing for 30mins, he delivered the craziest live performance that lasted nearly an hour!”
“The energy was electric, Snoop played us all the classics back-to-back it was like living in a dream!”
“This was a legend who was performing in the Super Bowl half time show not too long ago and now he’s performing in our office. Having such a global icon take over our headquarters was truly a bucket list moment we will never forget.”
Charlie Sloth, who also co-owns Au Vodka, said it was ‘an honor’ to host one of the world’s biggest rappers.
Charlie Sloth said: “Having a legend like Snoop Dogg come by the Au Vodka HQ to throw a mega secret party is not only huge for the brand but also for Swansea.
“What an honour! There ain’t no party like an Au party.”
