Santa Anna Label Group To Partner With Trill Entertainment.
Santa Anna Label Group today announced a partnership and distribution agreement with Trill Entertainment. Under the new agreement, Trill Entertainment will have access to Santa Anna’s marketing, distribution and promotional support, among other services, to assist its catalog and new artists in maximizing their creative potential and build their businesses.
Created in 2001 by Melvin “Mel” Vernell, Jr. and Marcus “Turk” Roach in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the record label rose to prominence in the early 2000’s with notable acts including Boosie Badazz (formerly known as Lil Boosie), Webbie, Foxx, Lil Phat, Lil Trill and others. Today, the company has released multiple multi-platinum singles and albums including “Wipe Me Down” (2x Platinum), “Set it Off” (2x Platinum), “Mind of a Maniac” (Gold) by Lil Boosie, “Independent” by Webbie (2x Platinum) and albums Bad Azz (Platinum), Survival of the Fittest (Gold), Savage Life (Gold) and Savage Life 2(Gold). In addition, Trill Entertainment signed new artist Tre Savage and recently released his debut mixtape and single featuring NBA Youngboy.
“Just as Mel and Turk were at the forefront of music back in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and dominated Hip-Hop culture from 2005 and on, they continue to bring their expertise and excellence to Trill Entertainment,” said Todd Moscowitz, founder of Santa Anna. “I look forward to reconnecting with such a dynamic pair to support their catalog business as well as grow and develop their current and future roster of artists.”
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Todd, Lee and Santa Anna to build on the success of Trill Entertainment’s catalog and find new and exciting ways to develop our artists,” said Vernell. Roach added, “We’ve seen firsthand what this team is capable of and know the great opportunities that lie ahead for our business and creators.”
This announcement follows last week’s partnership announcement with Santa Anna Label Group and OVO Sound to provide Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Noah “40” Shehib, Oliver El-Khatib and Mr. Morgan’s label and artist roster with expanded A&R and production services.
