Rapper NBA YoungBoy says he’s living in South Korea after being pardoned by President Trump and he’s not coming back.

He appeared on the “Open Thought” podcast Tuesday to say he was happy to be living in Asia.

“It’s very safe here and very clean,” he said of his new home.

When asked if he could ever see himself returning to the U.S., the “Make No Sense” rapper replied, “Never in life. No.”

The 26-year-old rapper thanked the president for granting him his freedom in 2025.

“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist,” he said in a statement.

The Louisiana musician born Kentrell Gaulden was released from a Utah federal prison, where he was sentenced to spend 23 months for possessing weapons while being a convicted felon in May 2025. He acknowledged having a pair of firearms while filming a rap video in Baton Rouge, in addition to keeping a Sig Sauer 9-mm. semiautomatic pistol at Utah home.

NBA YoungBoy says he plans to do one more world tour in his career. What he misses most about the U.S. is his purported 13 kids, whom he plans to see again.

“That’s what they got planes for,” he said.
