Peacock Hosts Summer BBQ With A Surprise Performance from Will Smith & Coco Jones.
Last night, Thursday, August 1, Peacock hosted a Summer BBQ at the Universal Studios Backlot for the return of BEL-AIR Season 3. Guests were surprised with a show-stopping performance from Coco Jones, who sang her new single “Here We Go” before inviting Will Smith up to duet his classic hit “Summertime” to celebrate the BEL-AIR state of mind.
BEL-AIR cast members Jabari Banks, Coco Jones, Adrian Holmes, Jimmy Akingbola, Olly Sholotan, Akira Akbar, Jordan L. Jones and Simone Joy Jones, attended alongside executive producers Will Smith and Morgan Cooper; showrunner, executive producer, and writer Carla Banks Waddles. Special guest stars in attendance included Jazlyn Martin, Justin Cornwell, Alycia Pascual-Peña and more.
Attendees were treated to BBQ favorites from Trejos Tacos and black-owned staples, Earle’s on Crenshaw and Eagle Rock BBQ. The Summer BBQ also brought “Blackccess” to life (a new term this season coined by Will and Carlton meaning “Black Access”), through a Blackccess Flea Market, which featured 3 black-owned vendors and custom Blackccess merch.
Host Charles Kuykendoll, kept the vibes high throughout the night, and yard games, iconic photo ops, and tunes by DJ Meel gave guests multiple opportunities to take part in the newest chapter for the Banks family: Summertime in BEL-AIR. This event promoted NBCUniversal and State Farm’s Open Doors initiative which supports small businesses across the country – with a special spotlight on minority-owned businesses.
The new season of BEL-AIR premieres August 15, only on Peacock with three episodes airing at launch.
