DJ Mister Cee Has Died At 57.

Mister Cee, (real name Calvin LeBrun) who was the DJ for Big Daddy Kane and who helped discover and produce Biggie Smalls has passed away.

Known as “The Finisher,” Mister Cee has been a fixture on New York City radio waves for over 25 years. His “Throwback at Noon” block on Hot 97 is where he played classic old school hip-hop. It was one of the most popular programs at its time.

The news came out by former Yo! MTV Raps co-host Ed Lover, who posted on Instagram. He wrote in the post, “My heart is broken! All that knew him loved him! Take the music to heaven and put the Wallop down! Rest in Peace @djmistercee.”

On-air personality Peter Rosenberg, for New York’s Hot 97, added, “We have lost the iconic Mister Cee. I listened to him yesterday and am in complete shock. He was a dear friend to all of us, a wonderful man, and one of the most important and impactful DJs of all time. I love you Cee.”

 

 

LeBrun’s cause of death has not been revealed. He was 57 years old.
