DJ Khaled’s ‘Father of Asahd’ Hits No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart

DJ Khaled earns his third No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as Father of Asahd climbs 2-1 in its second week on the list. The 15-song set earned 58,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 30, according to Nielsen Music.

Asahd is the second album this year to top the chart without debuting at No. 1. It follows A Boogie wit Da Hoodie’s Hoodie SZN, which earned its maiden week at the summit in its third frame and reigned for four weeks overall.

Khaled previously topped the chart with Asahd’s two immediate predecessors: 2016’s Major Key and 2017’s Grateful. The former led the list for one week, while Grateful posted two weeks in the penthouse.

Asahd likewise completes a 2-1 move to lead the Top Rap Albums chart, securing Khaled’s fifth leader there. In addition to Key and Grateful, which each crowned Top Rap Albums for two weeks, the producer also led with 2011’s We The Best Forever and 2015’s I Changed A Lot, both of which ruled for a single week.

Asahd also secures Khaled’s 12th top five effort on the Top Rap Albums chart, matching Tech N9ne for the most by any act since the chart began in 2004. Source: Billboard
