girlsweetvoiced Announces Debut Headline Shows.

Following the release of her debut full-length Lovesweet, Canadian singer-songwriter girlsweetvoiced announces her debut headline shows in New York City at Baby’s All Right and Los Angeles at Moroccan Lounge.

The announcement arrives as girlsweetvoiced wraps up her supporting run on select dates of Ryan Beatty’s headline North American tour, which saw her perform her first-ever live shows at hallowed venues such as LA’s Greek Theatre and Chicago’s House of Blues, before closing out the tour at Brooklyn Paramount this Saturday.

Her highly  debut project, Lovesweet, is out now.

The singer first captivated audiences with her distinct tone and refreshing blend of folk and pop, which she debuted to the world through short-form videos teasing her own original songs. Over the past few months, girlsweetvoiced has built a dedicated fanbase following the viral reaction to her March single “Tonight,” which contained a notable sample of Joni Mitchell’s “California” that was approved by Mitchell herself after girlsweetvoiced wrote her a letter asking for her blessing to use the sample.

Her name draws inspiration from the ancient Greek poet Sappho, who wrote nearly 10,000 lines of lyric poetry (though only fragments have survived), including the phrase “girl sweetvoiced.” Much like Sappho’s work, Lovesweet sees the singer delve into the themes of the female experience, love, yearning, and loss in collaboration with Michael Uzowuru (SZA, Rosalía, Frank Ocean). Despite limited formal musical training, the enigmatic singer has demonstrated a raw, distinctive style through minimalist, self-produced beats on a MIDI keyboard, combined with a poetic songwriting sensibility, informed by her love of folk music’s greatest voices and contemporary pop. That combination appears extensively across the project on tracks like “Downfall of Little Me”, “Cranberry” and “A Minute, A Mile”, displaying her ear for production and ability to craft eloquent, yet bluntly relatable lyrics.
