ON DECK: 6th Annual National Black Voter Day.

BET Media Group, in partnership with the National Urban League, When We All Vote, and more than 40 civic organizations, will commemorate the 6th Annual National Black Voter Day on Friday, September 19, 2025, amplifying the collective power of Black voters and reaffirming our commitment to ensuring every Black voter is informed, engaged, and heard.

This nonpartisan initiative focuses on empowering Black voters to participate in local, state, and national elections each year, protecting against disenfranchisement and suppression, and educating voters on their collective power.

“Even in years without a presidential race, decisions made at the local and state level directly shape our communities,” said Tiyale Hayes, EVP of Marketing and Co-Lead of Social Impact at BET Media Group. “This National Black Voter Day, we’re reminding voters that every ballot matters and every voice has the power to drive change.”

As part of National Black Voter Day, BET and its Coalition of Partners are amplifying the importance of voter education and engagement through bold, grassroots and digital activations.

Highlights include:

  • When We All Vote will register voters at the Truth and Service Classic (Howard University vs. Hampton University) in Washington, D.C., while also leading a robust, multiplatform National Voter Registration Week of Action that leads into National Black Voter Day.
  • Black Voters Matter Fund will activate the Black Youth Renaissance Tour, bringing impactful voter engagement events to campuses including Savannah State University, Georgia State University, Albany State University, and more.
  • Students Learn Students Vote Coalition will launch a coordinated social media campaign across @slsvcoalition and @nationalvotereducationweek, demystifying the voting process and equipping partners to engage Black voters this fall.
  • Hip Hop Caucus will launch a visual protest and social justice campaign featuring notable artists, influencers, and activists to promote voter registration and protection.
  • The National Black Justice Coalition, Legal Defense Fund, and Fair Count will collectively amplify National Black Voter Day across digital platforms and communications. NBJC and LDF will spotlight resources and toolkits on social platforms and Fair Count will encourage Black voters to complete digital commit-to-vote cards.

Together, these efforts will create touchpoints across the nation, ensuring Black voters are informed, empowered, and ready to take action.
