Following Lifetime’s six-part documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly,” which featured interviews with multiple women who outlined allegations of abuse against the singer, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx held a press conference yesterday regarding Kelly in Chicago. Foxx encouraged any survivors and witnesses with information about Kelly to contact her office in order to initiate an investigation. “Please come forward,” she said. Foxx also revealed that her office had been contacted by two families looking for two missing women. The families believed the women had been to Kelly’s home in the Chicago area. Foxx said that no new charges have been filed against Kelly at this time. Watch the press conference below.

When asked about the documentary, Foxx responded with her impressions of the series. “I was sickened,” she said. “I was sickened by the allegations, I was sickened as a survivor, I was sickened as a mother, I’m sickened as a prosecutor. I’ve worked in this office for a number of years including in 2008, and so the allegations were not new to me, but I think listening to survivors and giving the platform for survivors to tell their stories was heartbreaking.”
