The Seattle hip hop scene is buzzing because of Yonny – a rising rapper with a sharp pen that’s cutting through the noise. After a breakout year, he dropped a new single “Jumbo Jet” featuring hometown friend and platinum producer Sango (Drake, Frank Ocean, Smino), setting the stage for the release of Everywhere, But Always (Deluxe) on September 19.

Yonny’s story is pure DIY grit: working odd jobs and rapping, building a following off of raw music rooted in Seattle pride and his Ethiopian heritage. His 2024 debut Everywhere, But Always earned him critical acclaim (Seattle Times called it “remarkably mature,” Seattle Met dubbed him “probably the hottest Seattle hip-hop artist you’ve never heard of”) and a growing fanbase with over 3M streams.
