Ty Dolla $ign dove into the crypto meme coin space by posting to social media that he dropped 3.2 million TRX, approximately $502,000, into Sundog ($SUNDOG), a meme coin built on the TRON blockchain yesterday.

He then posted that he lost his coins and the founder of the blockchain, Justin Sun posted back, “Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Sent you $500K TRX so you can get back in the game.”

Ty Dolla $ign began showing interest on October 3, when the rapper tweeted, “What’s up with all these memecoins tho? 👀 I keep hearing about them everywhere. Is it all hype or people really making bread of this?”

The rapper’s tweet gained traction, and two days later, on October 5, he wrote, “What if I drop 500k on a memecoin?” Boxer Ryan Garcia quickly responded with, “Bet on Sundog. Some mafia cult meme lol.”

On October 8, Ty Dolla $ign followed through, tweeting, “Just dropped half a Mil. Now send $SUNDOG 🚀,” sharing a link to the TRON blockchain transaction that confirmed his 3.2 million TRX purchase of Sundog.
