T-Pain is bringing his hometown moniker to life with the announcement of his free block party going down next month on T-Pain Lane — the street dedicated to his name and fame earlier this year.
The Grammy Award winning artist made the big announcement on social media. The event takes place Oct. 17, the same weekend of Florida A&M University’s homecoming week.
“I’m coming home! Come hang with me FOR FREE on T-Pain Lane on 10/17. We’re shutting the block down and hosting games, activities, karaoke, food, music and more to celebrate and give back to the community that helped me get to this 20-year milestone,” he posted.
This year marks the second time T-Pain, whose stage name stands for “Tallahassee Pain,” returned to his hometown as a headliner. Last year, he performed an electrifying concert to commemorate Tallahassee’s bicentennial milestone at the Adderley Amphitheater in Cascades Park.
The sold-out show prompted T-Pain to promise he’d come back to Tallahassee to do it all again. He also thanked the crowd and city for showing him so much love after getting a key to the city and a street named after him.
“Everything that went on today was just a dream come true,” said T-Pain, from the stage. S:Tallahassee.
