Multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Lucky Daye begins a new chapter today with the release of “Nowhere Fast,” his first single under a newly announced partnership with Warner Records.

Produced by longtime collaborator D’Mile (H.E.R., Silk Sonic), “Nowhere Fast” finds Lucky leaning into a sleeker, more stripped-back sound—equal parts seductive, intentional, and effortlessly cool. Built around simmering basslines, hypnotic melodies, and understated grooves, the record captures an artist moving with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

 

 

Opening with the words, “Make ’em wait,” the track sets the tone for an era defined by patience, self-possession, and knowing exactly who you are.

The video extends the world of “Nowhere Fast” through a visually arresting basketball-inspired concept shot in Los Angeles. In the visual, Lucky and his team move through a series of choreographed moments that explore rhythm, restraint, and human connection. Balancing athleticism with intimacy, the video mirrors the song’s message—sometimes the most powerful move is not rushing forward, but moving with intention.

The release marks Lucky’s first solo offering since the success of his acclaimed album Algorithm, which earned him his second GRAMMY® Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance with the breakout single “That’s You.” Over the past year, he has continued to showcase his versatility through collaborations with Chris Brown, Teyana Taylor, Tori Kelly, Alessia Cara, and Tank and the Bangas, while delivering a standout performance during Ms. Lauryn Hill’s tribute to D’Angelo at the 68th Annual GRAMMY® Awards.
