GloRilla Arrested On Drug Charges In Georgia, Released On Bond.

GloRilla was arrested this week on drug charges in Georgia, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday, a day before she is set to headline a show at FedExForum in Memphis.

The Memphis-born rapper — real name Gloria Woods — turned herself in and was booked Tuesday into the Forsyth County jail in the Atlanta area on charges of Felony Possession of Marijuana and Possession of schedule one controlled substance. She was released the same day on $22,260 bond.

The investigation began Saturday, when Forsyth County deputies responded to a burglary in progress at her Atlanta-area home. Someone inside the home shot at the suspects, who fled, the sheriff’s department said.

“While on scene, deputies detected a strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics,” authorities said.

They obtained a search warrant and allegedly found a “significant amount of marijuana” inside a bedroom closet.

Meanwhile, GloRilla’s attorney responded to WREG, saying she was victimized by the burglars, who have not been brought to justice. The full statement is below:

The arrest of Gloria Woods is a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become. Ms. Woods was out of town when her residence became a target for a group of home invaders who most likely knew she wasn’t there. What they didn’t know was that she had family staying with her that were traumatized by the violent entrance of this group who grabbed high value jewelry before taking off once they realized the home wasn’t vacant. When her family members did the right thing and called law enforcement, instead of investigating the violent home invasion and theft at Ms. Woods’ home, they instead sought a search warrant when they spotted what they believed was a small amount of marijuana. Law enforcement then sought arrest warrants for her even though she hadn’t been at her home for some time. No arrest warrants have been issued for the violent home invaders. Ms. Woods is a victim, not a suspect. This is our tax dollars at work, absolutely unbelievable.

In April 2024, GloRilla was arrested on DUI charges near Atlanta.

The Glo Bash concert set for Friday in Memphis is apparently still on, according to a social media post made by FedExForum around 11 a.m. Thursday: “*GLO IS IN MEMPHIS TOMORROW NIGHT* It’s not too late to purchase tickets!!” S: News 3 Memphis
