AZ Chike Teams With Hit-Boy For New West Coast Anthem – ‘Packed Up’

Fresh off a breakout year and viral momentum that cemented him as one of the most exciting voices in rap, Los Angeles native AZ Chike returns today with his explosive new single, “Packed Up,” produced by multi-platinum hitmaker Hit-Boy. Out now via Warner Records, the song arrives with a cinematic music video as another statement from one of the leaders of rap’s new West Coast generation

Built on knocking drums, triumphant horns, and Hit-Boy’s signature blend of modern precision and California soul – with a hint of Houston’s chopped and screwed flavor – “Packed Up” feels tailor-made for summer in Los Angeles. AZ Chike glides through the production with the same confidence and sharp-tongued charisma that has made him a standout, delivering quotable flexes and unapologetic declarations that speak to years of grinding on his own terms.

On the hook, he sets the tone: “Packed up, picked up / Rollie on my wrist / Ima keep on talking ’bout my watches as long as time tick.”

Throughout the track, Chike reflects on independence, perseverance, and staying true to himself while navigating a rapidly changing industry. “Never checked for yo lane, always ran my own race / Always did my own shit,” he raps.

Directed by Stacking Memories, the cinematic visual blends scenes shot in Houston with live music and car culture. Featuring the iconic downtown Houston skyline, a classic slab low rider, a marching band on a football field, and an appearance from Houston rap legend, Trae Tha Truth, Chike pays homage to the culture that influences him.

The release marks Chike’s first solo offering since his acclaimed collaboration “All That Matters” alongside 6LACK and Leon Thomas, showcasing yet another side of his artistic range. Over the last year, he has become one of the most sought-after collaborators in hip-hop, appearing next to artists including Hit-Boy, Ray Vaughn, Rucci, Peysoh, and more.

Chike’s profile reached new heights following his signature lyrics on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX standout “peekaboo,” a performance that helped earn a GRAMMY® nomination and introduced his unmistakable style to audiences worldwide.

As anticipation builds for his forthcoming Warner Records debut album No Rest For The Wicked on July 24, “Packed Up” arrives as another reminder that AZ Chike isn’t simply participating in the West Coast renaissance — he’s helping lead it.

The momentum has been impossible to ignore. Chike entered 2026 landing on multiple “Artists to Watch” and “Most Anticipated” lists while continuing to earn praise from critics, tastemakers, and fans alike. Following a breakout performance at Camp Flog Gnaw and a string of high-profile releases, he has emerged as one of the defining voices of a new era in Los Angeles rap.

ABOUT AZ CHIKE:

For years, AZ Chike has been one of Los Angeles rap’s best-kept secrets. Today, he’s one of its most undeniable stars. Raised throughout South Central, Watts, Compton, and Long Beach, Chike’s music reflects the diversity, grit, and innovation of modern Los Angeles. He first broke through during the city’s street-rap resurgence with records like “Burn Rubber Again,” quickly building a devoted following through an endless stream of projects, collaborations, and viral moments. His ascent accelerated through a breakout appearance on ScHoolboy Q’s Blue Lips, a scene-stealing performance during Kendrick Lamar’s historic The Pop Out concert, and his unforgettable contribution to Lamar’s GNX standout “Peekaboo,” which later became part of the Super Bowl LIX halftime show conversation. Known for balancing razor-sharp street records with introspective storytelling, Chike now enters his biggest chapter yet with his forthcoming Warner Records debut album, No Rest For The Wicked. The project serves as both a culmination of nearly a decade of relentless work and the beginning of a bold new era. One thing remains unchanged: AZ Chike never stops working.
