Don Toliver Earns First Billboard No. 1 with ‘OCTANE’

Grammy-nominated rapper, producer, and songwriter Don Toliver enters 2026 with the year’s most commanding debut. His new album OCTANE explodes onto the charts, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the highest first-week sales of any album released this year, moving over 162K units, his biggest week ever, and generating 423M first-week global streams. Dominating both streaming and sales, OCTANE outpaced recent releases from Zach Bryan and A$AP Rocky, securing the most dominant opening week of 2026. The album also debuted No. 1 globally on Spotify and Apple Music, setting new streaming highs across both platforms and signaling a major inflection point for modern hip-hop.

At a time when hip-hop has faced growing criticism for stagnation and declining chart momentum, OCTANE arrives as a jolt of electricity—bold, boundary-pushing, and unmistakably forward-thinking. Toliver doesn’t just participate in the genre’s evolution; he actively reenergizes it, delivering a project that is as experimental as it is commercially undeniable.

Toliver wasted no time turning that momentum into a full-scale arena takeover. Produced by Live Nation, the 2026 OCTANE Tour will see him headline 31 cities across North America, kicking off May 8 with a marquee set at Rolling Loud Orlando, with stops including two Los Angeles dates – added after the first sold out in the presale – along with New York, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Toronto and more. The run also includes a top-billed performance at Summerfest, underscoring Toliver’s rise from cult favorite to full-fledged arena headliner. Featuring special guests SahBabii, SoFaygo and CHASE B, the tour marks his biggest live run to date, bringing OCTANE’s high-speed, cinematic world to life on a massive scale. Tickets are available now at LiveNation.com.

With OCTANE, Toliver delivers his most futuristic and experimental body of work yet, expanding his signature melodic trap and R&B into arena-sized, genre-defying territory. Executive-produced by Toliver, the album balances raw emotion with high-adrenaline energy, pairing mosh-ready anthems with hypnotic late-night records. Early standouts like “Body” have already surged into the Top 5 on Spotify and Apple Music, while self-produced cuts including “ATM,” “Rendezvous,” and “Call Back” showcase the most hands-on and creatively fearless work of his career. In 2026, Toliver evolves from hitmaker to global headliner.

Following the album release, Toliver continued to expand the world of OCTANE with the official music video for “Rendezvous” featuring Yeat. Directed by ADM and produced by Cole Bennett, the video underscores the album’s momentum, spotlighting Toliver and Yeat’s chemistry through themes of speed, late-night escapism, and a diamond-driven motif.

The OCTANE visual rollout also includes the “Excavator” music video, directed by Shadrinsky and filmed at the historic Mount Wilson Observatory, as well as Live From OCTANE Mountain, a multi-hour live-streamed listening experience filmed at Mount Wilson that aired January 29, following an earlier in-person event at the Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles.

Recorded across Toliver’s European tour and sessions in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Los Angeles, and Mount Wilson, OCTANE draws inspiration from his lifelong love of cars and rally racing culture, with themes of motion, independence, and velocity driving both the album and its visuals.

The release builds on a historic run for Toliver, who has delivered certified platinum singles “No Pole” and “Private Landing” featuring Justin Bieber, along with multi-platinum hits including “No Idea,” “After Party,” “Lemonade,” and “Bandit.” His previous album, HARDSTONE PSYCHO (2024), earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

With OCTANE and its upcoming arena tour, Don Toliver continues to cement his place as one of the biggest artists on the planet and one of the most forward-thinking artists in modern Hip-Hop and R&B.
