India’s Colle$ttye and Wiz Khalifa Unite on “BLUNTONOMICS”

India’s breakout artist Colle$ttye and Multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY and Golden Globe nominated recording artist Wiz Khalifa join forces for their new single “BLUNTONOMICS,” a high-energy, bilingual trap single rooted in India’s fast-rising underground rap movement. The record pairs Wiz’s unmistakable cadence with Colle$ttye’s skillful delivery and bass-driven production to create an iconic moment for contemporary hip-hop.

Released via LA-based label D36 in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, “BLUNTONOMICS” captures a precise cultural crossover: the moment India’s underground ragecore sound steps onto a bigger stage in its own voice, with one of hip-hop’s most recognizable names riding shotgun. The single arrives amid a surging new wave of Indian hip-hop that skews younger, more melodic, and internet-native. The scene’s momentum has accelerated through major cultural touchpoints — from Travis Scott’s shows in Mumbai to Rolling Loud’s launch in India (the latter of which Wiz Khalifa will be performing at this weekend) — and will crest again with Playboi Carti’s headlining set at Lollapalooza India 2026.

Speaking on the significance of this collaboration Khalifa shares, “Man, the music scene out in India is crazy right now. I already had plans to perform in India but I really wanted to tap in. When I heard the Colle$ttye track, I knew I had to lay the verse down.”

Colle$ttye further adds, “This collab is huge, but it’s not just about me. It’s about the whole scene in India that is starting to pop off. We’ve got a sound, we’ve got the talent, and we’re done waiting for a handout. We’re kicking the doors down. ‘BLUNTONOMICS’ is a message to everyone: find your own sound, and the world will come to you.”

Emerging from Noida (UP-16) and the online communities fueling India’s new wave, Colle$ttye is a leading voice in a scene that blends melodic intensity with late-night, speaker-shaking production. His “CGPA” lyric-breakdown video sparked one of the year’s biggest hip-hop moments in India, crossing 2M+ views with 225K shares and over 15M impressions across social platforms. The phrase “Bluntonomics” quickly became shorthand among young listeners for the irreverent ambition and humor that define this sound. What began as an in-joke among Indian hip-hop fans has since become an anthem for a generation.

“BLUNTONOMICS” channels that same energy: nocturnal, euphoric, rebellious, and bass-heavy, with psychedelic edges and hard-charging drums. Colle$ttye’s verses move between Hindi and English with precision, threading local references (UP-16, Sector 50, campus pressure) into a universal narrative about momentum and self-belief. Wiz’s guest verse delivers the effortless poise that made him a global mainstay, anchoring the collaboration with a veteran’s presence while leaving room for the new voice to lead.

The record sits comfortably alongside the artists that today’s fans cite—Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert—while remaining firmly its own: shaped by Delhi-NCR slang, DIY studios, and the distinct cadence of India’s youth culture. As the first major international collaboration to come directly out of this scene, “BLUNTONOMICS” underscores the speed at which Indian hip-hop is globalizing without losing its local identity.

Wiz Khalifa’s participation also highlights the demand curve around South Asian audiences worldwide. With ~40M monthly listeners on Spotify and a combined social footprint that includes 39.7M on Instagram, 7.7M on TikTok, and 29.9M on YouTube, Wiz connects the single to a vast global audience; Colle$ttye, meanwhile, channels India’s most talked-about youth movement into a focused, export-ready statement. Serving as the prelude, the single drops in the lead-up to Wiz Khalifa’s headlining set at Rolling Loud India on November 22, 2025.
