ADA Worldwide & South Coast Music Group Ink Global Distribution Deal.
Today, ADA Worldwide, the independent label and artist services arm of Warner Music Group (Nasdaq: WMG), announced their new global distribution deal with Charlotte-based label, South Coast Music Group (SCMG). Founded by industry vet Arnold Taylor, SCMG is home to some of the hottest rising hip-hop talent including, Dustystaytrue, DeeYounginn, Luclover, and Big Mali, who recently supported Sexxy Red on her nationwide tour this past fall.
Cat Kreidich, President, ADA Worldwide, said: “Arnold is an entrepreneur who had a vision and carved his own unique path in the industry. A decade in, and South Coast is thriving. We’re thrilled he’s entrusted ADA to support and grow his business and put our firepower behind the rich talent coming out of the Carolinas. We share a deep love for the music and can’t wait to help these artists break through and connect with fans everywhere.”
Taylor added: “SCMG is excited to begin our partnership with ADA. Their goals, persistence, drive, and perseverance match our SCMG brand. This will only strengthen our journey to SUCCESS we are embarking on!”
After a successful career which included roles at Epic, Republic, Interscope, Def Jam, and Blackground Records, Taylor founded South Coast Music Group in 2014 as an expansion of his South Coast Marketing group. Backed by an exceptional team, SCMG has established a proven ecosystem for authentic artist development – the label notably launched the careers of multi-platinum rappers DaBaby (who remains signed to SCMG/Interscope) and Toosii (who remains signed to SCMG/Capitol). A breeding ground for up-and-coming acts hailing from the Carolinas, SCMG has since supported projects from a diverse group, including recent releases from TiaCorine, Goldiie Lux, and more. This marks SCMG’s first partnership with a globally renowned distribution company, enabling them to expand upon the foundation they have cultivated independently.
The news comes after ADA’s recent global deals with top independent labels such as 10K Projects and Rostrum Records, adding to an already impressive list of partners that includes Sub-Pop, VP Records, Mute, Chocolate City, and many more. This past year, ADA has also supported major releases from rising stars around the globe who have seen strong runs on the charts including, Latin Grammy® winner Quevedo, Bellakath, Bennett, Ayvila, and many more. In addition, ADA spearheaded notable partnerships for Daft Punk’s catalog with TikTok and Peloton.
