Hip Hop Legends From East And West Coast Come Together.

Hip hop pioneers and innovators from New York and California will join forces to deliver a one-of-a-kind concert to old-school rap fans at the Oakland Arena on November 9.

Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Too $hort, Eric B & Rakim, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples and Mistah F.A.B. will bring the roots and the imagination of hip hop to life, celebrating rap music and culture as they trace its journey from New York and Long Island to the unrivaled scenes in Oakland and Los Angeles.

Each of these legendary artists has shaped the sound, style and influence of hip-hop and “Hip-Hop 101” marks the very first time they will all come together to share the stage. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.

“I’m hyped for Public Enemy to come back to the Bay and bring the noise and everything we got for this legendary lineup of hip hop history,” said Public Enemy co-founder Flavor Flav. “In just one day, people will get to see how far hip hop has come and how unlimited its artistry can be,” added PE co-founder Chuck D.

“Prepare for minds to be blown by how every act on that stage will be bringing something different to the mix. But the common denominator is that we’re all going to rock the house,” he continued. B-Real of Cypress Hill declared, “We’re comin’ atcha, Oakland! The Hill and all of our brothers about to come through and smash the whole city up. Don’t miss this!”

“Hip-Hop 101: New York to The Bay” will take place on Saturday, November 9 at the Oakland Arena. Doors open at 5:30.
