Today, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Hailey Knox releases her debut EP For The Best. One of the most talked about emerging talents of 2024, the eight-track project showcases Hailey’s candid lyrical prose and fine-tuned pop R&B production.
With catchy hooks and melodic flair, the highly anticipated collection of songs tells the story of a dysfunctional relationship and its aftermath. Speaking about the meaning behind the EP Hailey shares, “For The Best is about accepting what is. Reflections on when love hurts, growing together and apart, closing chapters, and starting new ones.”
The EP contains previously released singles “11th Hour,” “Double Tragedy,” and “On Nothing,” as well as an alternate version of the song “Stranger, featuring a more stripped-down instrumental. The new project shows off Hailey’s songwriting and production skills as she crafts songs with her guitar and a trusty loop pedal. She’s made a strong connection with fans, and impressed her peers, with intimate videos she posts that let viewers into her creative process and demonstrate how she builds her songs piece by piece. Ultimately, For The Best is a labor of love. “When you listen, I hope the love and care I put into the music is received,” she says.
From the time she picked up a guitar at age 7, music has always kept her grounded. “Being in touch with my creative side has always helped me feel sane,” she explains. “Once I write a song, I feel like I’m fulfilling my purpose—and not going crazy!” Hailey processes life in real-time through her artistry, layering her truth with gentle acoustic strumming, steady beat-craft, and cathartic vocals.
Early in her career, Hailey supported Charlie Puth on tour and was featured on the remix of “Remember” by Russ after participating in an open verse challenge.
