G Herbo – ‘Big Swerv’ Album + New Video “Candyman”

Platinum-selling Chicago hip-hop luminary G Herbo uncovers his anxiously awaited new project, Big Swerv, as he takes another major step forward both artistically and personally.

In tandem with the release, he revealed the rap video for the aptly titled “Candyman.

On the track, an anxious beat brushes up against airy synths, conjuring the unease of a classic horror flick score. Meanwhile, Herbo digs deep. He pleads, “God forgive me for my sins,” and he makes a confession, “At least a hundred nights I cried when I lost my twin.” While the sonic tension tightens, he steps into another light with a sharp refrain, “Call me Candyman.” The accompanying music video effectively channels this spirit on-screen with a nod to the timeless Chicago-set horror flick Candyman.

Amplifying his signature sound, the album also includes songs for every mood. On “Ten” with Sexyy Red, he creates a raucous anthem for the ladies. While on “In The A” epitomizes his relationship with Atlanta, his second home, as the city has been instrumental in sending his career to the next level. Never being one to stray too far from Chicago, longtime collaborator and friend Chief Keef is also present on the album’s “No Pics”. Big Swerv finds Herbo tapping in with rising stars like Rob49, Baby Drill, and Skilla Baby on the recently released “Shoot.”

On Saturday September 7, G Herbo will grace the stage of the 9th annual Tip Fest – Teens In The Park presented by John Walt Foundation and The Chicago Park District. This free community event invites young fans to congregate and enjoy what promises to be an unforgettable hometown special guest appearance by Herbo.
