Harlem rapper Dave East has inked a deal with United Talent Agency for worldwide representation in all areas, Billboard is reporting.
East, the Nas protege who signed to Def Jam Recordings in the fall of 2016, is the latest addition to UTA’s roster, which has grown significantly in recent months. Vic Mensa, Nicole Scherzinger, Randy Jackson, Bush, Young Thug and Lenny Kravitz are among the artists who have joined the agency in 2018 alone, while East’s fellow Def Jam MC Jeezy signed with UTA last July.
Dave East has had a big year, with a mixtape in January that landed on the Billboard 200, guest spots on releases by PRhyme (Royce da 5’9 and DJ Premier) and Lin-Manuel Miranda and a deal with Luc Belaire to become a global ambassador for the champagne brand, a la Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and Steve Aoki, among others.
He also appeared on-screen in, and on the soundtrack for, the Netflix series Rapture, which premiered last month. Source: Billboard
