Chance The Rapper’s Charity SocialWorks Receives $100K Donation From Raising Cane’s.

Chance the Rapper joined Raising Cane’s earlier this week (Sept. 12) to accept a $100,000 donation for his youth-focused charity, SocialWorks. The donation highlights Raising Cane’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment initiatives in Chicago.

Chance, a Chicago native and founder of SocialWorks, made the special appearance at Raising Cane’s Wrigleyville location to greet fans, serve meals, and officially receive the check. Afterwards, he visited Michele Clark Magnet High School to serve lunch from the Raising Cane’s food truck.

During a news conference, Chance the Rapper said he is more involved in SocialWorks than most other celebrities who have nonprofits because he’s based in Chicago and can attend SocialWorks events that his friends, who help run the nonprofit, host in the city.

“A lot of the future of SocialWorks is expanding on existing programs,” Chance the Rapper said. “I think all the programs that we run and all the partners that we engage could all just be boosted and be expanded to reach more people.”
