Boldy James & Real Bad Man – “Come Back Around” ft. Dreamcastmoe + “It Factor” Ft. El-P

LA-based producer Real Bad Man continues his prolific run of projects by announcing Conversational Pieces, a new album with Boldy James, out May 2nd via his own Real Bad Man records. As a first taste of the forthcoming full-length, Real Bad Man and Boldy are also sharing two new singles,“Come Back Around”, featuring DC polymath artist dreamcastmoe and “It Factor” featuring El-P. The former single is accompanied by a music video directed by belvedere (Tommy Richman, Cash Cobain), who directed all of the forthcoming visuals for Conversational Pieces.

Conversational Pieces marks the producer and Detroit MCs third collaborative full-length together, following 2020’s Real Bad Boldy and 2022’s Killing Nothing. This latest entry in the duo’s ongoing collaborative relationship widens the aperture of the sound they’ve honed over the first two projects, inviting in dynamic new collaborators like El-P, CONWAY The Machine and dreamcastmoe to stretch their sound into unpredictable new spaces.

Real Bad Man is proving himself as a dynamic producer with the fluidity of styles he’s displayed on the three projects he’s released so far this year, each melded to the strengths of the artist he’s building a world around. With ZelooperZ on Dear Psilocybin, RBM enveloped Z’s sporadic delivery with a psychedelic soundscape. On the recently-released Midnight with Willie The Kid, Real Bad Man returned to the essential underground beatmaking that he first emerged onto the scene with through crackling, lo-fi production that pairs hand-in-hand with Willie’s hardened delivery.

Real Bad Man is the production moniker of visual artist and designer Adam Jay Weissman. A designer and visual artist first, he made his foray into music through his On High Alert series of imaginative, multi-generational compilations, which have featured the likes of Roc Marciano, ROME STREETZ, Pink Siifu, Maxo and more. In the years since, he’s partnered with some of hip-hop’s most talented and adventurous artists on full-length projects, refining and shaping the trajectory of some of rap’s most exciting independent artists, and expanding the scope of his sound even further through new and unexpected collaborations in 2025.
