Nigerian-born & Brooklyn-based indie-soul artist Black Hibiscus releases the third single, “FORLӦRN,” from his forthcoming album. “FORLÖRN” is an atmospheric and dreamy track featuring shimmery guitars over a sensual groove, a slow ballad reminiscing on a fading love. Black Hibiscus softly sings directly to a past relationship about forgetting the details, but holding on to the feelings they shared. The lyrics ‘I can’t remember the taste of your lips anymore” set the stage for a vulnerable outpour on a dark, trance-like instrumental.
Black Hibiscus’s new album, GROWING PAINS, will be released on October 18, 2024. The album explores personal growth and the trials that come with it. As Black Hibiscus grows not only as a person but also as a producer and writer, the project serves as a bed for experimentation and exploration into new sonic territories. The album takes us on a journey of this self-growth using a backdrop of tranquil nature and the hectic New York Cityscape vying for our attention. It’s hectic, experimental, intimate and always unpredictable, while showcasing a thoroughly unique voice at its heart.
