Sustained

How good are you? Do you think you have what it takes it to make it? For a hot 20 - 50 dollars any joe blow can go in the studio and lay a track. For another $100 you could look like one on the hundred or so cd’s you pass out. Rap is an open leauge, no discrimination or qualifications, anyone can do it. Can you get paid off it though? This is the difference between the regular season and the playoffs of hip-hop. The good side allows you to drop cd’s whenever you like, tour globally on a consistent basis and offers opportunities in other arenas, but how long can you sustain success? Everybody loves you when you’re the new thing on the block. What about after some takes a shot at you, exposes a flaw in your past, takes your chain or something to that affect. Are you still a star? The playoffs end most rappers careers. When the gimmicks are up, and the lies exposed and people find out who you really are will they still want to buy your cd? A lot of these spotlight hungry artist will find out soon that as high as it could take you, it could push you down even lower. Longevity is one of the true measures of sucess. Lots of artist have fell victim to the crunch, the pressure to do something better than what they thought was their best. Anyone can make it, but can you make it to the playoffs?
