When did music first enter into your life?

When I was younger I use to sit in front of the TV watching The Box and watch videos, and I always knew I would be an entertainer because I love to act and do stuff with music. It begun when I was free-styling at school in the 11th grade -- I started a rap group.

You’re from Houston, Texas, correct? So, growing up there who actually did you listen to?

No, I was born in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Arlington, Texas, at the age (of) 12. But, I used to listen to Master P, Bone Thugs(-N-Harmony), 2Pac, and (The) Hot Boys.

Was it always something you knew you’d eventually pursue professionally?

(No, that happened) when I had my first little girl.

Initially, you were part of a fledgling rap collective called Texxxas Made -- What prompted your decision to go solo?

We all went our separate way for school.

So then, how did you wind up signing with CKB entertainment?

Making the (“Do The) Ricky Bobby” song. (I) gave it to the CEO, (and) he couldn't get it out his head!

Define for me your sound?

All types! I do different things, and when it comes to performing I show naked ass ‘cause I love to be on that stage. It’s like I become a new person.

Your popular lead single, ‘Do The Ricky Bobby’ is doing really well for you -- Did you expect such a strong response?

No, I didn't, but I'm glad it did ‘cause I can show others that anything can happen as long as you grind and believe in yourself.

Obviously inspired by the Will Ferrell character in Talladega Nights, how did the concept for the song even come to fruition?

I said it in a song before just being goofy, and I had a friend come to me and ask me what is it and (I) said, “I need to do my own song explaining what it is.” And, I didn't have a dance for it until after the song was done.

You titled your forthcoming solo debut B-Dash -- What’s the meaning behind naming it that?

B-Dash is like any alter ego, but it’s also how I spell my name: B-Hamp. But, B-Dash is real “Crunk” and goofy, and B-Hamp is more serious but gives you more punch-lines.

Who’d you work with on B-Dash?

Youngstarr, the producer of the “(Do The) Ricky Bobby,” and Woodknock Productions and T.A., a producer that's signed with C.T.E., and D. Jones from 112. (Plus,) I'm right there with ‘em telling them the sounds and styles I want for my songs.

Any high profile cameos on the record?

Daron from 112, Fat Pimp, Soufside from the GS Boyz, Chalie Boy, Lil Won, Tekniq, J-Hurt, Aqua Man. And, my favorite track on the album is “Fortune and Fame.”

What are your plans for sticking around in music?

Stay being me, and support my fans like they support me, and keep thinking outside the box.

How do you feel about the state of Hip-Hop music?

People are having fun now. It’s not like there is anymore, “Kill ‘em, kill ‘em, bang bang!” Everybody having fun, and I don't think you should rap about what you don't do.

Everyone may know or be aware of B-Dash the rapper, but what type of person are you really?

I'm a fun person to be around, and I love to have fun. And, anytime I'm in your city you can catch me in the malls -- I love to shop!

What’s next for you?

Dropping another album, and being part of history!
