Donald Glover’s “Atlanta” has been renewed for a fourth season on FX before production on its previously-ordered third season has even begun.
The Season 4 renewal was announced during the cable channel’s day at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday. Production on both upcoming seasons — which are eight episodes apiece is scheduled to begin next spring.
“What more can be said about Atlanta than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald, Paul, Dianne, Stephen and Hiro have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television,” FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier said Tuesday. “This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners.”
